Sending money by SMS

Two simple steps to carrying out a CaixaGiro from your mobile sending an SMS

Firstly, you only have to register the beneficiary, either through Línea Abierta (the internet banking service) or in your ”la Caixa” branch, assign an “alias” (code word) and follow these easy instructions:

  1. Send a SMS to 215777 (cost: 0.30 € + indirect taxes) with the text GIR followed by the amount , the foreign currency (E for euros and D for USA dollars) and the alias of the beneficiary.

    2. E.G. To send 500 US dollars to your mother, send Gir 500 d mother to 7020 E.G. To send 500 US dollars to your mother, send Gir 500 d mother to 7020

  2. You will receive an answering SMS as receipt of the transaction.
     

What do you need?

To be a holder of the Línea Abierta service and have Línea Abierta SMS activated in order to be able to carry out the transaction.
